Hi, I’m Neil - the person behind Squeaky Beaver Poutine.
"The poutine guy"
Food and drink has been my career for as long as I can remember. I worked in hospitality around the world for many years, trained as a chef, learning the importance of doing things properly: using good ingredients, cooking from scratch and never cutting corners. While I loved the restaurants, pubs, and kitchens, I soon realised I preferred being where the action was, cooking in front of people, chatting to customers and having full control over what goes on.
That led me into street food, and I haven’t looked back.
For the last eight years I’ve travelled all over the Midlands, serving thousands of people at weddings, festivals, corporate events, birthdays and everything in between. Every event is different, and that’s exactly what I love. One day we’re feeding a bride and groom after they’ve said “I do”, the next we’re serving hungry festival-goers or helping a company celebrate a successful year.
The idea for Squeaky Beaver came from a simple question: why isn’t proper Canadian poutine easier to find in the UK? Living in North America, once I’d tried the real thing, I was hooked. Crunchy fries, rich gravy and squeaky cheese curds… what’s not to love? So I decided to build a business around doing it properly.
Today, we’re proud to serve authentic poutine alongside loaded fries and gourmet hot dogs, all cooked fresh from our food truck. Great food is only half the job though. We believe turning up on time, smiling, having a laugh with customers and making events run smoothly is just as important.
We’re a small independent business, and that’s exactly how we like it. Every booking matters, every customer matters, and every event gets the same care and attention we’d want if it were our own.
If you spot the yellow truck, come and say hello. We’d love to feed you!
